Why Jute?
Jute, known as the Golden Fibre, was at one time the biggest foreign currency earner
for Bangladesh. Sadly, many factories have shut down due to corruption and mismanagement.
Golden Fibre Industries Ltd. is looking to utilizing the numerous properties of
jute that makes it superior in comparison to other fibres in making similar products.
The biodegradable property of Jute makes it environment friendly. Unlike other fibres
or substitutes such as polythene, jute does not result in the clogging of earth
pores. Jute can also be burned without air pollution. Further, unlike other man-made
fibres, jute has no adverse affects on the human body.
Not only is jute environment friendly but it has many other supreme and inherent
yet unique properties. Jute extends only 0.5% to its stable form under stress. This
gives jute wonderful dimensional stability. It also permits normal breathing and
humidity to the contents and so ensures their storage without deterioration. The
hairy surface of jute fabric enables it to be stacked high and wide without the
risk of slippage. Hooks can be used freely and easily on jute products during handling
since it covers up pierced holes immediately after. This enables jute products used
for transportation to be reused. Jute does not easily undergo distortion since its
ignition temperature is 1930 c.
